TTA manager resigns
Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) GM, John Claflin, has announced his resignation from the agency effective Sept. 30, 2006. Claflin’s departure from TTA comes two weeks after it admitted that it would be unable to secure $485 million in federal subsidies for a commuter-rail corridor between Raleigh and Durham, N.C. Budget cuts may spare Milwaukee County bus routes
MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee County may choose to phase-out local swimming pools in order to keep its bus service intact. The Milwaukee County Transit System had proposed to end four bus routes; reduce service on nine others; and raise the prices of weekly adult passes, student fares and van service for the disabled. Washington voters to weigh transit issues in November
SEATTLE, Wash. — King County voters will decide in November if they want to raise sales taxes 0.1 of 1% to expand countywide bus service again.
