The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has placed an order for 260 CompoBuses from North American Bus Industries Inc (NABI).
NABI's 45-foot CompoBus weighs roughly the same as its traditional 40-foot bus, enabling it to provide a lower operating cost per passenger mile as compared to buses with traditional steel structures. It also seats 46 passengers, as opposed to 38 on 40-foot buses.
The bus gets its name from its structure, which is manufactured from a composite material consisting of a lightweight, reinforced glass/carbon-fiber material.

The agency is testing floor decals on select railcars to improve awareness of priority seating and support a more accessible transit experience.
