Steve Roth, PE, PMP, joined HNTB Corp. as group director – engineering, based in the firm’s Austin office.

Steve Roth, PE, PMP, joined HNTB Corp. as group director – engineering, based in the firm’s Austin office. Roth will work with the firm’s transit clients in Central and South Texas, including Capital Metro in Austin and VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio.  

Roth has more than 20 years of experience in planning, design and construction of rail, transit, transportation and infrastructure projects. Throughout his career, he has served on a wide range of complex projects in Texas, including downtown station engineering design services for Capital Metro, preliminary engineering and environmental services for VIA, program management services for the Denton County Transportation Authority and Rail Division Planning and Engineering Services for the Texas Department of Transportation.

“Steve’s proven capabilities and experience in system planning, corridor analyses, public and stakeholder engagement, and design, strengthens our capabilities and offerings to our transit clients as they look to increase mobility options across the region,” said Michelle Dippel, HNTB Central and South Texas office leader and vice president.

Prior to joining HNTB, Roth served as senior manager and transit practice leader for another consulting firm.

In Central and South Texas, HNTB currently is working on, or has been involved with, some of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects, including serving as both general planning consultant and general engineering consultant for Capital Metro in Austin; program management services for VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio; planning consultant for the Texas Department of Transportation’s Planning and Programming Division; and construction engineering and inspection services for the U.S. 281/Loop 1604 Interchange in San Antonio.
