San Francisco's Loop commuter services acquired by Hallcon Corp.
The acquisition will enable the family-owned, 40-year-old transportation services company to expand its industry-leading commuter bus services beyond the Bay Area to markets across the country.
San Francisco-based Loop Transportation Inc. and SFO Shuttle Inc., currently operating as Loop, jointly announced the acquisition of both organizations by Hallcon Corp., which has corporate offices in Toronto and Lenexa, Kan.
The acquisition will enable the family-owned, 40-year-old transportation services company to expand its industry-leading commuter bus services beyond the Bay Area to markets across the country. Loop operates the eighth largest private bus fleet in the U.S. and provides private employee commuter bus services to tech giants such as Google, Facebook, Apple and LinkedIn.

In addition to employee commuter services, Loop also operates airport shuttles at San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport.
The commuter transportation industry has grown 87% in the Bay Area over last three years alone, and sustained growth is forecasted for the foreseeable future. Entering the commuter bus services business with eight vans four years ago, Loop now has over 300 shuttle buses and vehicles and transports over 29,000 people per day.
The acquisition by Hallcon is vital to maintaining Loop's position as the industry leader and will enhance its ability to respond more quickly to evolving needs and growth opportunities in a way that continues to set Loop apart from its competitors, according to the company.
