SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — As airlines cut back flights out of Santa Barbara Airport, local ground transportation company, Santa Barbara Airbus has seen a boost in business, reported Pacific Coast Business Times.

Many travelers face less-than-convenient itineraries or premium ticket prices to fly between smaller cities, due to major airlines scaling down as fuel prices spiked and other challenges, including a pilot shortage, which have them exploring other options, the report said.

When American Eagle stopped serving the local airport, Goleta-based Santa Barbara Airbus 'saw a significant growth in volume,' according to founder and CEO Eric Onnen. The operation makes eight round trips to and from Los Angeles International Airport daily and provides charter services.The locally owned and operated organization has been growing at about a 10% rate over the past two years, Pacific Coast Business Times reported.
