STG Inc., provider of IT, engineering and technical security services, was awarded a contract by the Department of Transportation's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center to protect transportation systems in the U.S. from sabotage and terrorist attacks. The five-year contract, with a potential value of $124 million, includes the protection of physical assets, operations, and people including the protection of several modes of transportation; logistics processes; and government functions, facilities, and operations. The STG team, consisting of STG, Barry Security, American Systems Corp., DMJM+Harris, Intergraph Solutions Group Inc., and Access Systems Inc., will perform, among several tasks, vulnerability assessments and security planning, and mitigation planning and implementation.
