The Utah Transit Authority has selected HNTB as the agency’s program management services consultant. The agreement includes three years with two one-year options.
HNTB will perform program management and related activities that support bus and rail transit-related services included in UTA’s approximately $960 million Five-Year Capital Program (2021-2025). The projects to be supported by HNTB will reportedly benefit communities within UTA’s six-county service area along the Wasatch Front, including 83 municipalities, covering 1,400 square miles, and serving more than 80% of Utah’s population.
The HNTB team includes 21 subconsultants, 37 local team members, and five Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Small Business Enterprise firms. Project support got underway in early March.
“UTA’s Capital Program focuses on renewing existing bus and rail infrastructure and facilities, bringing them to a state of good repair, expanding existing services, and developing new services,” said Jason Bleyl, PE, HNTB senior project manager. “HNTB is providing a wide range of multidisciplinary expertise to help UTA successfully launch its robust transit capital development program.”
HNTB will perform capital program development coordination and administration support; project management and administration services; planning, engagement, and outreach; grants management; and NEPA/environmental services. Other services will include pre-construction and construction support; project controls; systems and signal engineering oversight; quality assurance and consultant performance evaluation; and adjunct professional services as needed.
