Veolia selects Dodge Sprinters for paratransit fleet
Company replaces entire fleet with 29 Sprinter shuttle buses.
Veolia Transportation Services Inc. has replaced its Baltimore paratransit fleet with 29 Dodge Sprinter shuttle buses, delivered by DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America (DCCBNA).
Veolia says it chose the vehicles for Sprinter’s wide door opening, center aisle, wheelchair lift and fuel economy. The fleet of Dodge Sprinters is used by the Baltimore City Health Department to provide a specialized, door-to-door service for clients. Veolia also provides Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) specialized, curb-to-curb service to disabled passengers unable to use fixed-route public transportation, including lift-equipped buses.
Sprinters feature a dual panel 36-inch-wide door, a 12-seat configuration, one wheelchair position and a wheelchair lift to accommodate passengers with special needs.
