Voith Turbo recently celebrated 50 years of operating in the U.S.
To commemorate the occasion, the company hosted a special event at its York, Pa., facility, honoring its rich history and the employees who have played a central role in its success.
“A 50-year celebration is a rare moment to pause and recognize the collective contributions that have brought us to this moment,” said Ralf Dreckmann, President of Voith Turbo, North America. “We want to thank our employees for their loyalty, hard work, and shared vision, as well as our customers who make our business possible. Our 50 years of success sends a powerful message about Voith Turbo’s dedication to operating in the U.S.”
Since launching its U.S. operations in Appleton, Wis., in 1975, Voith Turbo has steadily expanded its footprint. The company relocated to Allendale, N.J., in 1979 and established its current base in York in 1987. Additional Sacramento, Calif., and Houston facilities have since been added to support growing demand.
Voith Turbo marked another milestone in 2024 with a $6 million expansion of its York workshop, reflecting a rise in rail business and the importance of Buy America compliance, the company said.
Today, Voith Turbo’s U.S. operations focus on the design, assembly, and service of advanced power transmission solutions for various industries, including rail, commercial vehicles, and more.
