Extending a three-decade partnership, Calgary Transit will upgrade its operations with technology and services from Conduent Transportation, a business unit of Conduent Inc., to help make riders’ daily commutes easier.

Under a new five-year contract, Conduent will make various improvements to the public transit systems in Calgary. Starting in 2019, the company will modernize more than 220 legacy ticket vending machines throughout the city to provide riders an enhanced experience using new touch screen displays and to support a roadmap for future payment options.

Calgary Transit’s existing software will also be upgraded to Conduent’s ATLAS® ticketing system, which will further enhance security without any impacts to riders. The new software is capable of processing all types of user transactions, including deducting fees from a rider’s account balance, recognizing a monthly plan or charging a credit card.

Conduent Transportation is a provider of public transportation and mobility solutions — including electronic toll collection, parking management, and advanced transit and safety systems — that offer automated, analytics-based, and personalized services for government agencies and their constituents.
