NORTH TEXAS — In less than a month, Texoma Area Paratransit System (TAPS) services will be back up and running again – this time with a new partner, Transdev, KTEN News reported.
On Monday, TAPS Board of Directors awarded a multi-million dollar, five-year contract to Transdev, an international transit management company. TAPS and Transdev will work together in public private partnership which means TAPS will still be governed by TAPS Board of Members, but Transdev will take over all of TAPS operations and manage its debt and backed up payroll, the report said.
"The last six months have been very difficult for this agency, and that's an understatement,” Interim CEO, Tim Patton told KTEN News, “but really moving forward, to have the financial and operational strength that we're looking for this is going to be a good step for us to move in this direction."
