Intersection, The Routing Company, and Siemens Mobility recently announced news from their respective companies.

Intersection Expands SoCal Footprint

Intersection announced an exclusive partnership with Southern California’s Metrolink.

Metrolink rail lines cut through some of Southern California’s most populous residential areas in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego counties.

The contract commenced on April 1, 2023, and will continue for three years, with one two-year option, for a total of up to five years.

Already the exclusive partner for Los Angeles Metro Rail advertising, the addition of Metrolink greatly increases Intersection’s footprint in Southern California.

Metrolink spans 545.6 total service line miles through more than 50 major cities and 100 zip codes.

The initial media launch for Metrolink will focus on exterior rail products, including full passenger car wraps, ultra super kings, and rail kongs.

“Southern California has been a major focus for us in recent years, and we are thrilled to be chosen by Metrolink, ” said Scott Goldsmith, president/COO at Intersection. “We believe Metrolink’s footprint and audience will be extremely valuable to our advertising partners as they look to reach key targets like consumers and tourists.”

TRC Launches Corporate Campus Shuttle Service

The Routing Company (TRC) announced it has received a new one-year contract from RMA Limo (RMA), operator of the Lerner Enterprises (Lerner) employee ride system.

Service is already underway, supporting Lerner’s Corporate Office Center in Tysons, Virginia – a nearly 400,000 square foot commercial building located two blocks from Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA) new Tysons Corner Metro Station.

The contract follows TRC’s recent shuttle deployments with Maryland’s Bethesda Urban Partnership, Virginia Commonwealth University, and two additional private deployments spanning corporate and academic campus shuttle services.

Siemens Mobility to Deliver New S-Bahn Trains

Siemens Mobility announced it will deliver 90 superlative new S-Bahn trains after winning an EU-wide tender.

The contract includes an option for additional trains. Financing for the trains is guaranteed by the State of Bavaria through a leasing model.

The new S-Bahn trains ordered for Munich are scheduled to enter passenger service at the end of 2028.

For the first time in Germany, completely integrated S-Bahn trains with a total length of more than 200 meters will be in use, providing capacity for 1,841 passengers.

With the order, the State of Bavaria and the Munich S-Bahn are preparing for expected passenger growth in the coming decades and for the planned mobility transition. The trains are energy-efficient and receive software updates via the cloud.

“Siemens Mobility is especially proud to be delivering the most innovative S-Bahn trains in Germany,” said Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility. “Providing unique digital functions, maximum passenger comfort, environmental protection, and operational safety, this S-Bahn train will set new standards for the mobility transition in Germany. In the future, passengers in Munich and the surrounding region will travel in comfortable trains that are exceptionally reliable and future-proof thanks to state-of-the-art Siemens rail technology.”
