Trinity Metro officially launched the Blue Line, the second route in its color-coded bus service network, designed to provide fast, free, and convenient transportation through the heart of downtown Fort Worth.

Funded in partnership with Visit Fort Worth and Downtown Fort Worth Inc., the Blue Line delivers a modern transit experience with frequent service, eye-catching vehicles, and easy connections to the region’s larger mobility network.

A Fresh Look and Seamless Ride

The Blue Line introduces a fleet of bright blue buses adorned with bold, local artwork, a visual upgrade that also extends inside the vehicles.

Riders will enjoy comfortable perimeter seating, interior art accents, and a clean, inviting atmosphere tailored to locals and visitors alike, Trinity Metro officials said.

The Blue Line runs every seven minutes daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering reliable hop-on, hop-off service ideal for navigating downtown Fort Worth’s growing array of attractions.

“Much like the Orange Line, Trinity Metro’s Blue Line provides a necessary connection for residents and tourists to some of Fort Worth’s iconic destinations,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “The color-coded lines are very appealing for riders, and the overall look raises the bar for an outstanding transit experience.”

Supporting Tourism, Business, and Downtown Vitality

The launch comes at a time when Fort Worth’s tourism is booming.

Visit Fort Worth reported 11.5 million visitors in 2023, up from 6.5 million in 2014, bringing in $3.5 billion in economic impact and generating an estimated $251 million in tax revenue for state and local governments.

“Offering rides every seven minutes is very convenient and a great incentive for riders to hop on board,” said Bob Jameson, President and CEO of Visit Fort Worth. “The complimentary bus route supports a growing convention business in our downtown and is one more example of the welcome extended to our visitors.”

Thanks to continued collaboration with Downtown Fort Worth Inc., the Blue Line is free to ride year-round. It connects to key downtown destinations including the Fort Worth Convention Center; Fort Worth Water Gardens; Sundance Square; and dozens of dining, shopping, and hotel locations.

The Blue Line ties directly into the region’s broader transportation ecosystem, with links to Trinity Metro buses, TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express, Trinity Metro Bikes, and major transit hubs like Fort Worth Central Station and Fort Worth T&P Station.

With the Blue Line officially in service, Trinity Metro continues to expand its network of color-coded routes, with future lines already in planning stages.
