The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) unveiled a new color scheme and design on its Citizens Area Transit (CAT) bus system. All new buses and paratransit vehicles will be ordered with the new blue and gold colors and updated designs. The current CAT fleet will maintain the regular painting schedule with repainting done as needed, meaning portions of the fleet will have the original teal and magenta color scheme for several years. “By making gradual changes to the system’s appearance, we will achieve a cost-effective changeover,” said RTC GM Jacob Snow. “Phasing in the changes will also help us to keep the system running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.” Twenty fixed-route buses will be painted immediately and the RTC recently ordered 78 paratransit vans with the new design.
