A train dedicated to the cinema was designed for use in Seoul, South Korea, to make traveling on the system more pleasurable. The Cinetrain allows passengers to watch highlights of films onboard the trains during the next six months. Video monitors broadcast highlights of films, including classics and previews of new movies, as well as news and commercials from sponsors. Each of the 10 trains was specifically designed to reflect a different genre. The war and peace car was decorated with army camouflage netting and the romance car with artificial roses and velvet seats. The project cost about $800,000, with most of the funding from private sponsors. Seoul’s subway system carries about six million daily passengers.
