The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, a regional planning agency in Oakland, Calif., announced distribution plans for $122 million in new federal and state money for transportation projects in the region.
The money will go toward a variety of projects, including highway, transit and infrastructure development and repairs.
Included in the funding is $8.5 million for system-wide track and related structure rehabilitation for Caltrain, the Bay Area’s commuter railroad, and $7 million for the Bay Area Rapid Transit's core system rehabilitation.
