On Wednesday, A-Z Bus Sales Inc., a provider of transportation solutions, announced broad support for industries requiring buses for special needs individuals in wheelchairs. A-Z Bus Sales provides shuttle vans and buses with ADA equipment in support of both “stop and go” and long-trip transportation. Customers include amusement parks, assisted living facilities, adult day healthcare facilities, tour/charter operators, and hotels/casinos.

A-Z Bus Sales recently provided special needs buses to a well-known amusement park located in Southern California. The Arboc Mobility “Spirit of Mobility” is a low-floor vehicle that was purchased to transport amusement park guests with wheelchairs from various parking lots to the front gate. The Arboc bus was specifically chosen because all passengers, those with or without wheelchairs, board and exit the bus using the same door, equipped with an entry ramp that is deployable at various ground or curb heights. The Arboc design affords riders with wheelchairs the same boarding experience as the bus riders without wheelchairs. The Arboc design also benefits park operations because the passenger loading and unloading times are shortened by up to 40 percent when compared to a bus with a traditional rear-side wheelchair lift.

The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District in Tehachapi, Calif., an assisted living facility, recently took delivery of a hybrid electric-powered Glaval Universal Bus to transport up to eight of their long-term care residents with wheelchairs, plus two staff members. A-Z Bus Sales assisted TVHD to find the right bus and complete the special forms, needed to qualify for a purchase voucher under the California Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).

Also benefiting from special needs buses from A-Z Bus Sales are adult day healthcare facilities. A-Z Bus Sales has provided special needs buses to facilities such as Casa Pacifica, in San Diego, California to provide point-to-point transportation for their clients, from their residences to the day facility.

A-Z Bus Sales, Inc. is a 25-year old, employee-owned company specializing in transportation solutions for the government and public sector, education market, commercial and private fleets.
