Alliance Bus Group (ABG) was awarded a state contract to purchase in the Georgia State Public Mass Transit & Transportation bid, Grande West Transportation Group Inc. announced.
Grande West’s U.S. distributor, ABG was successful in winning the Georgia State bid for the Vicinity 30- and 35-foot heavy-duty vehicles. The contract allows for all transportation authorities, statewide, to purchase Vicinity buses with federal funding, as well as all public agencies, nationally, to purchase with local funding.

The contract is managed by Georgia’s Department of Administrative Services State Purchasing Division (SPD). The SPD oversees the procurement functions for the State of Georgia and manages all policies related to procurement. SPD negotiates statewide contracts and provides technical assistance to state entities in conducting and evaluating entity-specific competitive bids.
The agencies, San Diego MTS and NCTD - San Diego Railroad, which share a fare system (PRONTO), proposed the changes to help address their respective financial sustainability strategies.
The project was awarded under the Washington State Contract, enabling FAX to streamline its procurement processes while ensuring value and quality from an experienced transit solutions provider, said officials.
