APTA bus show to deliver in-depth agenda
Customer service, funding, security, technology and environment among topics at Anaheim, Calif., show.
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) will kick off its 2006 Bus & Paratransit Conference this weekend in Anaheim, Calif., with a strong focus on gaining public investment in transit and providing quality service.
The conference, which also includes the 2006 International Bus Roadeo, is hosted by the Orange County Transportation Authority, which won APTA’s 2005 Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award in the largest transit system category.
Sessions from May 1 to 3 will cover a wide variety of topics, including operations, safety, advances in technology and accessibility, improving the industry’s environmental awareness, customer service, disaster planning and a mock terrorism response drill.
The show will also feature a products and services exhibition and an outdoor bus display, demonstrating a range of new equipment.
