APTA honors diverse individuals, agencies
Charlotte’s Rob Tober named Outstanding Public Transportation Manager.
APTA held its 23rd annual show Tuesday, honoring five public transportation agencies and four individuals for their industry accomplishments.
Ronald Tober, chief executive officer of the Charlotte (N.C.) Area Transit System, received the award for Outstanding Public Transportation Manager.
Bill Lochte, principal for Silver Lake Enterprises Inc., received the award for Outstanding Business Member, and Huelon Andrew Harrison, chairman of Dallas Area Rapid Transit, was recognized as Outstanding Board Member.
The awards ceremony also presented a distinguished service award to California State Assemblyman Robert Huff.
Five public agencies were given organization awards. They are: The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston; Laketran in Painesville, Ohio; Muncie Indiana Transit System; Sun Tran in Tucson, Ariz.; and the Orange County (Calif.) Transportation Authority.
