On April 9th, 2015, ARBOC Specialty Vehicles presented its 2,000th bus to customer Oklahoma State University. A special milestone luncheon celebration was held at ARBOC’s Middlebury bus plant, giving special acknowledgement to Tom Duncan- Transit Manager for OSU, Brent Roy- Regional Sales Manager for National Bus Sales, and all of the dedicated employees at ARBOC Specialty Vehicles.
Tom Duncan states, “Oklahoma State University is proud to partner with ARBOC and leverage their success to take our services to the next level. Their innovative design and floor plan will allow for ease of boarding and alighting of customers while allowing ample room for the variety of mobility devices we encounter on a daily basis. The region’s fixed-route system finished out the year with a total of 373.5 million rides. Adding 12.3 million rides over 2024 represents an increase that is equal to the annual transit ridership of Kansas City.
Rolling out in electric yellow and seafoam blue, the first battery-electric buses purchased from GILLIG will begin serving riders in south King County on February 2.
The agreement provides competitive wages and reflects strong labor-management collaboration, positive working relationships, and a shared commitment to building a world-class transit system for the community, said RTA CEO Lona Edwards Hankins.
