Checker Bus adds new MCI J4500
The company’s new J4500 joins a diverse fleet of more than 30 vehicles including an entertainer coach, mini-coach, mini-bus/shuttles, limo buses, and more.

Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a U.S. subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., delivered Marquette, Michigan’s Checker Bus its first all-new 2019 MCI J4500.
“We went with MCI because of our past history with its reliability, parts availability, and speed of delivery,” said Jesse Schramm, owner of Checker Bus, who founded the company in 2010 with a single minivan. The company’s new J4500 joins a diverse fleet of more than 30 vehicles including an entertainer coach, mini-coach, mini-bus/shuttles, limo buses, trolleys, school buses, SUVs, and sedans.
Featuring Northern Michigan University’s Wildcats sports decal, Checker’s new J4500 comes in dark phantom gray with an upscale interior to match. Inside carbon-fiber parcel racks and matching seating by Amaya is complemented with best-in-class legroom, power outlets, and video monitors, along with side-view and back-up camera system.
