CTA installs directional decals
Thousands of bus stops outfitted with signs to help riders navigate transit system.
The Chicago Transit Authority is posting directional decals on thousands of bus stop signs around the Chicago area so people will know which way buses are traveling.
According to agency officials, the signs will be particularly helpful to people who aren't familiar with the area or those who may be transferring between rail and bus lines.
The CTA is using words such as "southbound" on bus stop signs underneath the bus name and route number.
The decals are currently on 800 of more than 9,000 single-route signs, with more on the way.
