First Transit earns university contracts in R.I., Ga. — DanielPenfield

First Transit was contracted by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to provide campus shuttle services for the school’s transportation system, RISD Rides. The newly awarded contract is for three years.

RISD Rides provides evening shuttle services, operating on two fixed routes covering the campus and neighboring areas until midnight. After midnight, RISD Rides offers To-Your-Door service, which transports students from designated campus buildings to their residences within the designated area of service.

First Transit was also awarded the ongoing management, operations and maintenance of campus transportation services for Ga.’s Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

The company will continue providing transportation at SCAD’s main campus in Savannah and at its satellite campus in Atlanta.
