First Transit wins N.C. contract renewal
Will continue to provide complete operations and transit management services as well as comprehensive preventive maintenance and inspection programs to meet customer transportation and budgetary needs.
The City of Rocky Mount, N.C., elected to renew its existing contract with First Transit Inc.
Currently, First Transit manages Tar River Transit's 60 employees and 11 fixed-route and 33 paratransit vehicles, which transport more than 314,000 passengers annually. The contract renewal extends the agreement for an additional three years.
First Transit, which provides complete operations and transit management services as well as comprehensive preventive maintenance and inspection programs to meet customer transportation and budgetary needs, has provided service to the residents of Rocky Mount since 2005.
The new contract will take effect July 1.
