The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) in Tampa, Fla., has reached an agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1593 on a four-year contract, effective immediately. Under the terms of the new contract, transportation employees represented by the ATU will receive a 5% annual wage increase for the life of the contract, improved health benefits and financial incentives that will be based on the agencies achievement of its overall goals. “This agreement sets the stage for HART’s ability to address the growing transit needs of our community,” said Ray Miller, the agency’s executive director. “We’re pleased to have come through these negotiations on such a positive note, and that our partnership with the union remains strong.”
