Florida’s Jacksonville Transportation Authority is launching a new on-demand transit service for people with disabilities. “Connexion Plus” service is a private pick-up and drop-off service that will be available to all Connexion certified customers beginning April 1.
Connexion Plus will offer customers with disabilities who are unable to use the regular fixed bus routes convenient, same day travel within Duval county.

“After listening to our paratransit customers, we think there’s a real demand for this enhanced service,” said JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “JTA is constantly exploring improvements for our transit offerings, especially for our Paratransit customers.”
Those who wish to use the program can call at least two hours in advance of the requested pickup time. Once the request is received, a vehicle with a Connexion Plus window decal will be on the way.
Customers are advised to have the following information ready to schedule a request- name, date and time of pick up, pick up and drop off address, and number of passengers. It is also important to share any accommodations that are needed, such as a wheelchair lift.

As the transportation landscape continues to evolve in the wake of the pandemic, few manufacturers have faced, or embraced, change as decisively as Forest River Bus.
Starting next week, HandyDART will also extend its hours to 2 a.m., improving service availability for customers and aligning more closely with SkyTrain operating hours.
