Miami-Dade Transit new rider alert system lets passengers register for e-mail or text message alerts on bus, Metrorail and Metromover service interruptions.

Customers can also set it up to notify them on the operational status of Metrorail or Metromover station elevators and escalators. In addition, the system lets paratransit customers sign up to receive Special Transportation Service updates.

Riders can register for Rider Alerts by visiting www.miamidade.gov/transit and clicking "Rider Alert Registration" in the left navigation bar under "Rider Tools."

Passengers not signed up for Rider Alerts can still check the status of elevators and escalators on their mobile devices at www.miamidade.gov/transit/mobile/.
