MV Transportation selects new CEO

Carter Pate is the Global and U.S. Managing Partner for the Capital Projects and Infrastructure practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He is also the co-leader of the company’s Global Government practice.

MV Transportation has appointed Carter Pate, a managing partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, to be the new CEO of the firm, effective August 15, 2011. In addition, Pate will serve as CEO of all MV’s subsidiaries and will become a member of the company’s board of directors.

Pate is the Global and U.S. Managing Partner for the Capital Projects and Infrastructure practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). He is also the co-leader of PwC’s Global Government practice. Prior to these roles, he built PwC's U.S. Government Services practice, and in this capacity from 2004 to 2008, he delivered from inception a compounded annual growth rate of 34 percent, which continues today, according to a company statement.

Pate joined PwC as a Direct Admit Partner in 1996, specializing in public company restructurings. In addition, he has served as the international financial advisor to many Fortune 500 companies including Kevco Inc., Dimon International Inc., South Africa Breweries and Kmart.

Prior to joining PwC, Pate was the Founding Partner of Pate, Winters & Stone Inc. (PWS) from 1987 to 1996. At PWS, Pate provided management and consulting services in the areas of restructuring management and corporate turnarounds.

Pate has more than 33 years of consulting, management and executive leadership experience spanning the full spectrum of business operations and finance in a variety of industries. He is an acknowledged leader in transformational change, financial and operational controls, workforce optimization, systems integration, and primary and secondary financing.

Pate’s book, The Phoenix Effect: Nine Revitalizing Strategies No Company Can Do Without, was released in March 2002. It has been translated into five languages, is used in business school courses, and is a featured course at Southern Methodist University.

Pate holds a Masters Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and a B.S. Accounting from Greensboro College and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas, New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
