Networkcar selects Siemens for fleet system
Wireless modules will improve speed, reliability of data transmission.
Networkcar has selected the Siemens TC63 wireless module for its Networkfleet wireless vehicle management system.
The Siemens module is integrated into the Networkfleet in-vehicle device, which collects and wirelessly transmits data directly from a vehicle's engine computer and global positioning system (GPS).
Networkfleet transmits GPS location and engine diagnostics wirelessly from the vehicle to a network operations center. Fleet managers can log on to a dedicated Website to view specific vehicle data such as current location, fuel consumption, mileage, speed, emissions and idle-time.
Siemens TC63 covers all four GSM (global system for mobile communications) frequency bands and has the capability to provide machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity on any GSM or GPRS (general packet radio services) network.
The integration of Siemens’ technology will increase data transmission speed, improve reliability and provide wider geographic coverage, according to Networkcar.
