ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — NJ Transit launched the four-month shutdown of its Atlantic City Rail Line for positive train control (PTC) upgrades, making commuters traveling between the oceanside resort and Philadelphia find alternate routes, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

Expanded local and express bus service is being offered by NJ Transit until the rail line returns in January. The agency is also offering a 25% discount on rail-line passes and tickets and cross-honoring them on multiple bus routes, PATCO, River Line, and special shuttle bus service.

As of August, NJ Transit has only completed 60% of PTC installation on its 11 lines. No installation of PTC has been completed on the ACRL. For the full story, click here.
