Peter Pan is adding new buses from Motor Coach Industries (MCI) to accommodate the steady growth in business it has experienced throughout the Northeast.

Peter Pan's decision to purchase 42 buses in the past 12 months was in response to a growing demand and the desire to further expand its modern fleet of buses. The new MCIs will be added in the coming weeks and through 2014.

"This is the largest amount of new buses being purchased in our company’s 80-year history. This equates to a brand new bus entering our fleet every week and a half. This busy and exciting period represents a substantial modernization of our equipment along with our commitment to having America’s most modern fleet," said Peter Picknelly, chairman/CEO of Peter Pan.

The new clean-diesel engine technology helps the coach reduce emissions and burn less fuel. The new bus models also feature wheelchair lifts, three-point seat belts, Wi-Fi, power outlets and a modern style restroom.

Peter Pan is one of the country's largest privately owned bus companies, operating premier regular-route service and support to over 100 communities throughout the Northeast corridor, with daily express service to cities including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The company also operates nationwide charter and tour services.
