"A 10% year-over-year increase in new motorcoach sales is a clear sign that our industry is regaining strength and confidence,” said ABA President/CEO Fred Ferguson. “Operators are reinvesting in their fleets to meet rising demand for group travel. But that momentum is at risk."

Ferguson also expressed concerns about proposed tariffs on imported motorcoaches and essential materials, highlighting the potential impact on costs and future investments.

While Q4 2024 showed a stronger recovery, with a smaller percentage decrease from the 2019 baseline, Q1 2025 demonstrates a step back, ABAF officials pointed out. However, comparing the performance to the same quarter last year, Q1 2024 total sales were 32.8% lower than the same quarter in 2019, indicating an improvement of 5.1 percentage points when comparing the same quarters across the two years.

Sales to private and public entities increased in the first quarter compared to the same quarter in 2024, increasing by 6.3% and 54.2%, respectively.
