RouteMatch equipping La. agency
Serving a population of more than 200,000, the Shreveport Area Transit System operates 20 paratransit vehicles, as well as 49 fixed-route buses covering 16 routes a day.
La.-based Shreveport Area Transit System (SporTran) is implementing RouteMatch's end-to-end intelligent transportation technology platform as the foundation for their paratransit services operations. The transit agency plans to use RouteMatch's technology to achieve operational efficiencies, save costs, and to support future health and human service transportation infrastructure for regional coordination.
Closing service gaps and encouraging more riders to use SporTran's services are key strategic goals for the agency. Serving a population of more than 200,000, the agency operates 20 paratransit vehicles, as well as 49 fixed-route buses covering 16 routes a day.
SporTran is implementing RouteMatch's integrated mobile data devices for automated vehicle location and communications, as well as software for scheduling and dispatching, route optimization, billing and reporting. In addition, the agency will be utilizing RouteMatch's automated passenger notification tools to keep riders informed of their pre-scheduled rides and conveniently facilitate cancellations and alerts, such as schedule changes or weather or emergency conditions through phone, text or email.
These technologies can be extended as the agency grows. As a recipient of a recent Veteran's Transportation Community Living Initiative grant, SporTran plans to establish a one-click, one call center, and maintain automated vehicle location and trip tracking information on all vehicles.
