PHILADELPHIA — Forty-two people were injured when a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) train hit an unoccupied train parked at a suburban station in Philadelphia, reported The Inquirer.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, which occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, the report said.
The train is equipped with Automatic Train Control, but it was not clear Tuesday whether the safety system should have been able to prevent the collision from happening, The Inquirer reported. For the full story, click here.
