The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) improved accessibility to six more of its bus routes, bringing the total number of routes that are wheelchair and scooter friendly to 126 of its 167 routes.

The new routes will be served by accessible, kneeling buses equipped with a flip-ramp or lift. These buses can be identified by blue lights on either side of the front destination sign, and the blue international wheelchair symbol displayed above the front right bumper next to the entrance door.

All fully accessible buses include two wheelchair/scooter positions. The TTC now has more than 1,300 accessible buses in its fleet, with more on the way. The buses are being purchased with the financial assistance of the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario.
