Police in Providence stopped an Amtrak train bound for New York City on Wednesday and took three passengers into custody, Reuters reported. The train had left Boston for New York when it was stopped in Providence, which is about 50 miles south of Boston. State police declined to give any details about the people in custody, Reuters said. The move comes as FBI and New England law enforcement agencies fan out throughout the region in the wake of terror attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
