The X2000 high-speed train between Gothenburg, Sweden, and Copenhagen, Denmark, began service in January. The service cuts travel time between the two cities by 40 minutes, to three hours and 30 minutes. Using hydropower to run, it also offers faster trains and direct connections. The trains also run on a line between the Swedish cities of Landskrona and Helsingborg. The services marked the premiere for the new high-speed train company Linx AB, owned by both the Swedish rail company SJ and Norwegian rail company NSB.
