MCI also improved its after-market parts offerings, increased the number of its free Technical Tune Up sessions at the MCI Training Center in Louisville, and expanded its award-winning online LEARN Webinar training series.

Motorcoach purchases have boosted MCI's market share in the second quarter, placing its most popular models in the top three sales positions in National Bus Trader's 2nd quarter sales report.

MCI's D4500 maintained its first-place ranking from the previous quarter, followed by the J4500 and the MCI's D4505, in second and third respectively. MCI's three models now represent an industry market share of 51.6 percent, the report said. MCI's overall market share for the quarter was 53.9 percent.

"We're very pleased that MCI is continuing its leadership and consistency in the market," said MCI's President/CEO Tom Sorrells. "These results showcase customer confidence in MCI quality and confirm the dedication of MCI to superior customer service. We also think our customers recognize the value of our strong warranty and maintenance programs designed to help them protect their investments."

So far in 2010, MCI launched its MCI Super-60 limited warranty on its J4500 model, a package that extends coverage on many components to five years. During its In Motion 2010 events, which began in February, MCI offered an unprecedented range of test-drive and educational opportunities in key cities.

MCI also improved its after-market parts offerings, increased the number of its free Technical Tune Up sessions at the MCI Training Center in Louisville, and expanded its award-winning online LEARN Webinar training series.

The NBT report singled out the MCI D4500 (marketed to transit agencies as the Commuter Coach model) as the leading beneficiary of increased spending in the public market, notable because the MCI J4500 has held the annual top spot on National Bus Trader's ranking for the last six consecutive years.

The second quarter 2010 report showed that total sales for the quarter were down 20 percent from the previous year, though in a positive trend, that decrease was half the rate of the year-to-year decline of 39 percent recorded in 2010's first quarter.
