SEATTLE — In an attempt to reduce lethal crashes involving pedestrians, Washington state transit agencies have equipped 38 buses with the Mobileye Shield+ System, which combines multiple smart vision sensors manufactured by Mobileye with a driver interface manufactured by Rosco Vision Systems, The Seattle Times reports.
The study will begin later this month, through a partnership between the National Academy of Sciences and the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool at King County Metro Transit, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit, Intercity Transit in Olympia, C-Tran in Vancouver, Ben Franklin Transit in the Tri-Cities and Spokane Transit.
