As part of a multi-year program to refurbish the fleet, Greyhound vehicles have been arriving at ABC’s state-of-the-art dedicated refurbishment facility in Nappanee, Ind., to undergo a process designed to recondition units from bumper-to-bumper. The first of the modernized Greyhound coaches rolled out of the facility in September 2011, entirely refurbished for less than the cost of a new motorcoach.
Each bus passes through 25 separate work stations during the refurbishment process, which takes approximately 45 days to complete. Upgrades to the original coaches include Wi-Fi, 110-volt outlets, LED lighting, leatherette passenger seating and extra legroom, as well as wheelchair lifts.
