NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Academy Bus Co., which served the University for the last 10 years, filed a lawsuit against Rutgers University and First Transit Bus Service for negotiating a contract without first informing the company, The Daily Targum reports. The coach carrier alleges that Rutgers collaborated through e-mail with First Transit to create an unequal playing field that would favor the UK-based transportation provider.
Before filing the suit, Academy asked the University to conduct a bid protest hearing in which the company would present their evidence that the procurement process between the University and First Transit was unjust. Rutgers refused the request. For the full story, click here.
