India's Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. signed with Alstom, in consortium with Larsen & Tourbro, a $106 million contract for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of track-works in corridors I and II for the Chennai Metro.
The track work consists of an approximately 65-mile track length, including nine miles inside the depot at Koyambedu, and is slated to be completed by the end of 2013 for stage 1 and mid-2015 for stage 2 (tunnel section).
