[IMAGE]AGV-NTV-2.jpg[/IMAGE]The first of 25 Very High Speed AGV trains commissioned to Alstom by NTV in 2008 ran through the Frejus tunnel before heading for the Alstom site at Savigliano, where another eight trains are being produced with the involvement of other Italian sites in Seston San Giovanni and Bologna.

Once in Savigliano, the AGV trains will get face a number of tests on the Italian High Speed railways to complete the certification process begun in 2009. The first phase was completed on December 12 with an approximate 205 mph run on the Milano Bologna very high-speed line.

Teams of engineers from several of Alstom Transport industrial sites, supported by test specialists, will take shifts working on .Italo. Measurement and data taken by the 2,000 sensors that have been installed on the train will be sent to Alstom's engineering departments.

.Italo is a new generation ultra high-speed train designed according to the latest European interoperability standards and meets all European and Italian environmental and safety regulations.
