Amtrak and Carbonfund offer offsets
Passengers can contribute to reduce environmental footprint.
Amtrak passengers can now offset the carbon emissions produced from their rail travel by making a contribution to Carbonfund.org.
To contribute to the initiative, passengers can log on to Carbonfund.org and choose between two options. Selections start at $3.00, which offsets 2,500 miles of Amtrak travel, or almost three round trips between Washington and Boston. All contributions are tax deductible and may be made online.
Passengers may request their donation support a specific offset type, such as tree planting, or choose to make a donation to the efforts of Carbonfund.org.
