Dr. John Stancil, President of Nashville, Tenn.-based Anchor Trailways & Tours announced the company's recent acquisition of Smyrna Motorcoach Services Inc. Eugene Mullins, former owner of Smyrna Motorcoach Services, will remain as an operator and sales representative of Anchor Trailways & Tours in Rutherford County.

"My wife and I founded Anchor Trailways & Tours in Murfreesboro 20 years ago with just one motorcoach," said Dr. Stancil, "we have since grown to 95 motorcoaches and are now the largest privately-owned motorcoach operator in Tennessee. We are so pleased to once again have a personal presence in the communities where we started. With our state-of-the-art equipment and Eugene's relationship with area travelers, we look forward to expanding our safe, comfortable and innovative motorcoach charter and tour services in the Rutherford area."

In addition to group motorcoach transportation, Anchor Trailways & Tours also operates the Holiday World Express in the summer season between Murfreesboro and Santa Claus, Ind., with four pick up locations in the greater Nashville area and the year-round, scheduled ATRunner service between Florence, Ala., and Nashville.
