Transdev announced the expansion of its successful WeRIDE microtransit program in Peoria, Ariz., which started on Jan. 6.
The expansion makes Peoria the fourth city to benefit from WeRIDE, alongside Avondale, Goodyear, and Surprise, marking another step forward in Transdev’s commitment to connecting communities through innovative transportation solutions.
With support from cooperative purchasing through the City of Avondale, WeRIDE will now provide demand-response services to a 10-square-mile zone in Peoria.
Designed to meet the unique needs of the community, the program offers first and last-mile connections in areas underserved by traditional bus routes, increasing access to jobs, shopping, recreation, and educational opportunities.
The introduction of WeRIDE to Peoria reflects the city’s growing demand for practical and reliable transportation options.
The WeRIDE program has already demonstrated significant success in other cities. Avondale recently surpassed two million riders and expanded to Saturday service to accommodate increased demand.
Goodyear has seen its daily ridership double, prompting an increase in fleet size. Across all service areas, rider satisfaction remains high, with app ratings consistently above 4.9 stars since the program launched.
WeRIDE’s success is also powered by its seamless integration with the Valley Metro network, allowing passengers to transfer between services using the same fares and discounted rates via the app.
