SEARCHWith this additional order, a total of 1,280 CRH1 cars have been ordered from Bombardier Sifang in China so far.
Bombardier Transportation announced that its Chinese joint venture, Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd. (BST), received an order for 40 additional CRH1 high-speed trainsets, valued at approximately $761 million, from the Chinese Ministry of Railways (MOR).
BST is a joint venture between Bombardier and CSR Sifang Rolling Stock Co. Ltd. Bombardier's share of the contract is valued at approximately $373 million.
Each of the new trainsets, consisting of eight cars, can carry a total of 604 passengers. Deliveries of the additional cars will begin in September 2010 and be completed by the end of May 2011.
With this additional order, a total of 1,280 CRH1 cars have been ordered from Bombardier Sifang in China so far.
The region’s fixed-route system finished out the year with a total of 373.5 million rides. Adding 12.3 million rides over 2024 represents an increase that is equal to the annual transit ridership of Kansas City.
