Bombardier Transportation received a $70 million order from the State Railway of Thailand to supply and install a computer-based interlocking system on four new commuter rail routes in the Bangkok region. The four mainline routes cover, in three projects, a total of 108 miles of double and triple track and 33 stations. One of Bombardier's main signalling engineering and product development centers is located in Bangkok, said Bombardier spokesman Javier Rion. Bombardier's latest-generation interlocking system has a modular design and offers high flexibility and adaptability to different operational principles.
