Calif. Gov. tours Asia to generate partnerships for high-speed rail project

Governor Schwarzeneggar rode a high-speed rail train with Japan Vice Minister of Transportation Masafumi Syukuri, Railway Bureau Director General Shigeto Kubo, Japan Rail East VP Masaki Ogata and U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos where they discussed the technology used by Japan's high-speed rail system.

On Tuesday, he took a ride on Japan's latest model of its high-speed bullet train, the Series E5 bullet train prototype, which features a massive 50-foot nose dubbed "arrow-line". Japan is up against China, France, Germany and other bidders as it seeks to sell its Shinkansen and magnetic train systems for Obama's high-speed rail project, which is backed by $13 billion in public funding, reported AFP.
